We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for an Inside Adjuster/Examiner for our Performance Mangement Group.  The Inside Adjuster/Examiner provides claims examining services critical to PMG property accounts, potentially including those related to niche market clients.  The incumbent brings a sound knowledge of insurance coverage related to various business lines. Working closely with a broad scope of stakeholders, the incumbent must be able to handle extensive and/or complex physical damage claims with minimal instruction or supervision.  


  • Determines coverage and identifies coverage issues related to various claims, applying a thorough understanding of applicable insurance policies and relevant coverage and loss types. Issues appropriate Reservation of Rights and/or declination letters.
  • Prepares accurate, clear, thorough, and concise reports and letters to insurance carriers, including reports on complex and/or highly detailed claims, providing conclusions and recommendations. Follows established policies, procedures, and processes in preparing information, exercising sound judgment in applying these to potentially unusual or complicated situations, and submits reports and documents in a timely manner and in accordance with insurer’s standards and expectations.  Effectively uses software systems such as Xactimate as necessary to produce accurate estimates. Applies in-depth knowledge and skills related to a wide variety of loss types, including but not necessarily limited to time element, builders’ risk, and stock losses.
  • Establishes contact and maintains effective professional relationships with insured parties, agents, contractors, brokers, EMA field adjusters, attorneys, and others involved in the claims process.  Review claims and claim status with insured, clients and brokers as necessary to facilitate the prompt, accurate resolution of claims filed.
  • Ensures the accuracy of information collected and reported and guard against fraudulent claims.
  • Reviews status reports and other work products of EMA field adjuster and makes recommendations to clients and/or insured based on the information provided.
  • Provides support to the EMA teams in response to catastrophic events.



  • Baccalaureate degree in a related field, or demonstration of equivalent knowledge and critical thinking skills.
  • 5-10 years' experience in commercial property adjusting or other insurance-related work.
  • Active resident Adjuster’s license or ability to obtain such within expected time frame.
  • Proficient in Xactimate software and video collaboration.


Ability to understand claims adjudication process; sound knowledge base and experience with commercial property claims and identified niche market claims.
